Broadway’s most celebrated new musical—Kimberly Akimbo, the 2023 Tony Award winner for Best Musical—arrives at Victoria Theatre this October. With book and lyrics by David Lindsay-Abaire, and music by Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home), it is a story that is funny, heartbreaking, and deeply human.
At its heart is Kimberly Levaco, a 16-year-old with a rare ageing condition that makes her look decades older. As she navigates high school, a dysfunctional family, and the reality of her limited time, she finds herself caught between her overbearing mother—whose love often comes with control—and the reckless influence of her Aunt Debra, a chaotic but well-meaning presence.
Amid the instability at home, Kimberly forms an unexpected bond with Seth—a quirky tuba player who sees her for who she truly is. What begins as shared word games and oddball humour blossoms into a tender first love. Their relationship is quiet, brave, and rooted in presence over grand gestures. With a bucket list in hand—and the help of Seth and a few unlikely friends—Kimberly must decide how to make the most of the time she has, choosing acceptance, courage, and hope in the face of mortality.
Playing the role of Kimberly Levaco is Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, celebrated as the First Lady of Philippine Musical Theatre. A recipient of the Aliw Award for Best Actress in a Musical for Next to Normal, and Artistic Director of Full House Theater Company, Menchu brings over 40 years of stage experience to this production. Her iconic performances in Sweeney Todd, Miss Saigon, and The Sound of Music have made her one of the most respected figures in the industry. Zachary Pang joins the cast as Seth Weetis, Kimberly’s earnest and idealistic love interest, whose quiet charm and connection with her form one of the show’s most heartfelt storylines.
Rebekah Sangeetha Dorai takes on the role of Kimberly’s dysfunctional mother—fresh off her win for Best Supporting Actress at the 2025 Straits Times Life Theatre Awards for Dear Evan Hansen. Benjamin Chow plays Kimberly’s father, while Frances Lee brings edge and humour to the role of her ex-con artist aunt. Rounding out the cast is Kimberly’s spirited support group of friends, portrayed by Melissa May Garcia, Angelo Martinez, Beatrice Jaymes Pung, and Theo Chen.
With Tracie Pang at the helm and a powerhouse cast, this musical is set to deliver a moving and unforgettable experience. Don’t miss this chance to catch Pangdemonium’s final show of 2025, and end the season on a bang with Kimberly Akimbo.
Kimberly Akimbo plays from 17th October to 2nd November 2025 at Victoria Theatre. Tickets and more information available here. Audiences can also use their SG Culture Pass credits to purchase tickets for the show from 1st September 2025 onwards.
