Are you a couch potato? Were you glued to your TV screen growing up as a kid? Then get yourself out of the house and over to the Esplanade Concert Hall this November to listen to all your favourite TV themes played LIVE!

As part of their SSO Pops series, the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) presents Happy Days – Favourite TV Themes this November. Conducted by award-winning conductor/arranger Gerard Salonga, brother of famed Philippines singer Lea Salonga, TV fanatics can look out for themes from shows such as Battlestar Galactica, Hawaii 5-0, The X-Files and Charlie’s Angels. But it’s not just old TV shows – the SSO will even be tackling newer tunes as well, from the likes of Game of Thrones, Star Trek: Discovery, Sex and the City and Downton Abbey, segmented into themes such as Sci-Fi, Love, Thrillers and Detectives and Comedies.

The orchestra will be accompanied by four vocalists, with Hazrul Nizam from popular local a cappella group Vocaluptuous, actor-musician Benjamin Chow, veteran jazz singer Alemay Fernandez, and BFFs and pop artist duo Jack & Rai, who will provide the vocals for TV classics such as The Greatest American Hero, Friends, Moonlighting, Dallas, M*A*S*H, The Love Boat and Golden Girls.

Previous editions of SSO Pops have featured programmes such as film scores, Broadway and Jazz, film screenings with live orchestra, and the forthcoming Video Games Music edition in 2019. Join the SSO as they take you on a journey through the history of popular television in sound, elevating these favourite TV tunes to greater heights with the strength of the entire orchestra and a distinct twinge of nostalgia and joy.

SSO Pops: Happy Days – Favourite TV Themes plays on 7th November 2018 at the Esplanade Concert Hall. Tickets available from SISTIC
