In London’s (Off) West End 2019: An Audience With Stuart Bagcliffe by Triptych Theatre Co. (Wandsworth Arts Fringe)
LONDON – As part of the 2019 Wandsworth Arts Fringe, Triptych Theatre Co. presents An Audience With Stuart Bagcliffe, a comedic one man play starring acclaimed actor Michael Parker in the title role.
Directed by Sally Paffett and written by Benny Ainsworth, both in their debuts, An Audience With Stuart Bagcliffe features the titular character ready to perform the debut if his own biographical play, written and directed by his Mum. As it’s his first experience on stage, Bagcliffe is naturally, a bundle of nerves. Even with his Mum in the wings giving him notes, and 765 days of tortuous rehearsals, obstacles befall his every move, including a sound technician who’s fallen asleep on the job, and Stuart’s entire world begin to fall apart. Will he make it through the play in one piece?
Said to be a cross between Mischief Theatre’s The Play that Goes Wrong, and Philip Ridley’s Tonight With Donny Stixx, come catch An Audience With Stuart Bagcliffe in all its imperfect portrayal of mental health, exploitation and coming of age.
An Audience with Stuart Bagcliffe plays from 18th to 19th May 2019 at Cat’s Back Theatre, 86-88 Point Pleasant, SW18 1NN. Tickets available here
