Held over 3 days and 2 nights from 19th to 21st April at Siloso Beach Sentosa, the 2019 edition of the Skechers Sundown Festival is the biggest to date and saw more than 50 Asian artistes from 11 countries perform for fans. Spanning almost 135,000 square feet, the venue was home to three stages, Eden, Nirvana and Utopia and more than 40 food stalls, glamping tents, art installation and film screenings.
Although the weather got a little stormy at times, that was no deterrent to the fans who waited on the beach for their favourite acts to begin. Taking lead at the Eden stage were Karencici (Taiwan), Joyce Chu (Malaysia) and our very own local talents, Charlie Lim, Sam Rui and Linying as well as many more M17 Entertainment Ltd streamers who flew in from Taiwan and Japan to serenade fans with their vocals. The streamers also brought the festival experience to their overseas fans through live streaming.
Higher Brothers (China), MFBTY (South Korea), Tokimonsta (South Korea), Crossfaith (Japan), Keng Tachaya (Thailand) and Big Ass (Thailand) rocked the Nirvana stage and heated up the stage with up close and personal fan interactions and merchandise giveaways.
DJ Soda (South Korea), Justin Oh (South Korea), Laidback Luke (Philippines), DJ Shogun (Taiwan) and Henry Fong (China) brought the atmosphere to a high with their EDM mix for the party goers at the Utopia stage who stayed on till the end of the night dancing to their latest hits.
In all, a successful 2019 edition of Skechers Sundown Festival has drawn to a close, bringing together art, music, and plenty of rabid fans baying for their favourite stars all in one high-energy extravaganza of a weekend. No rain could bring the enthusiasm down, and if anything, it was a party to remember as fans lived it up each day and each night, tired but satisfied, and most certainly, looking forward to the next edition.
