Art What!: Taipei Dangdai returns in May for 2021 edition
TAIPEI – In light of the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 and ongoing quarantine and travel restrictions, Taipei Dangdai has announced new dates for its 2021 edition. Originally scheduled to take place from 15th to 17th January, the Fair will now be held from 21st to 23rd May 2021 (VIP Preview 20 May) at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. Taipei Dangdai will return to January dates in 2022.
Building on the success of interim activations since the last edition of the Fair, such as the launch of ‘Taipei Connections’ in May, several new initiatives will be announced in the coming months to provide opportunities for galleries and collectors to connect. These will include collaborations with institutions and galleries across Taipei as well as a new model for the Fair’s Ideas Forum, which will take place both online and offline.
“We are committed to delivering the highest quality fair with the best mix of regional and international galleries. Following extensive discussion with our exhibitors, sponsors and partners, we have decided that shifting our dates will provide a much better context for our galleries, collectors and members of the art world to make meaningful connections in person once again,” said Robin Peckham, Co-Director, Taipei Dangdai.
“Despite the unprecedented challenges brought on by Covid-19, galleries remain committed to Taipei Dangdai. We are already receiving applications and strong interest from both returning galleries and new applicants from around the world, who are keen to engage with this important market.” said Magnus Renfrew, Co-Director, Taipei Dangdai.
Taipei Connections will take place from 21st to 23rd May 2021 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center. For more information, visit their website here
