The humanitarian crisis in Ukraine is worsening day by day, and we cannot turn a blind eye, or pretend to be insulated from it. A theatre in Mariupol, Ukraine, was recently targeted and destroyed by an airstrike, threatening the lives of more than a thousand civilians, including children, seeking shelter in the building. In response to the crisis, Pangdemonium has launched a public fundraiser appeal to support the ongoing humanitarian efforts by Singapore Red Cross.
Pangdemonium will be streaming their 2018 production, Dragonflies, on SISTIC Live from 5 April to 11 April 2022. The online stream will also feature a special recorded interview with Kateryna Zelenko (Ukraine’s Ambassador to Singapore), Stephanie Street (Playwright) and Tracie Pang (Artistic Director of Pangdemonium).
Adrian Pang, Artistic Director of Pangdemonium said, “Dragonflies touches on subjects affecting us all, not least the plight of displaced peoples resulting from war, violence and destruction. It is an urgent wake up call for all of us, and we feel certain that you will get something meaningful out of this play, and hopefully be motivated to do what you can to help the people of Ukraine.”
All ticket sales from the streaming of the play will go towards helping the people of Ukraine through Singapore Red Cross.
