Preview: Beauty and the Beast – The Musical by Disney Theatrical Group and Base Entertainment Asia

Disney Theatrical Group is thrilled to announce Shubshri Kandiah and Brendan Xavier in the lead roles of Belle and the Beast when Disney’s Beauty and the Beast makes its only stop in Asia, here in Singapore at Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands from 11 December 2025 for a strictly limited season.

“The excitement we felt in the audition room when Brendan and Shubshri performed for us was electric. These two extraordinary young performers have brought fresh life to these iconic roles, and we are thrilled that Singapore will have the pleasure of witnessing their interpretation that has been acclaimed by audiences and reviewers alike throughout the last two years in Australia” said Director & Choreographer Matt West.

Produced by Disney Theatrical Group and presented in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia, the same teams behind the successful seasons of The Lion KingAladdin and Frozen, this marks the first Disney-produced Beauty and the Beast in over 25 years.

Shubshri is known to Singapore audiences for her captivating portrayal of Princess Jasmine in Disney’s Aladdin the Musical during its 2019 season, while Brendan won hearts as Kristoff in Disney’s Frozen the Musical when it was staged here in 2023. Having both performed in recent Disney productions in Singapore, their return brings a familiar connection to Disney’s theatrical legacy on the local stage.

Beauty and the Beast is a much-loved classic that continues to fill the hearts of both new and returning audiences. Based on the iconic 1991 animated film, the original production of Beauty and the Beast played for more than 13 years on Broadway, remaining to this day one of the top 10 longest-running shows in Broadway history, and touring to 37 countries worldwide. Audiences in Asia will be enchanted by this new production, featuring the nostalgic and spellbinding songs of Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, including Belle, Gaston, Be Our Guest and the cherished title song, Beauty and the Beast.

In this brand-new production, the enchanting tale of Belle and the Beast has been reimagined with breathtaking new sets, costume designs, and state-of-the-art technology to bring the timeless romance to life on stage with all the spectacle and grandeur audiences know and love.

Beauty and the Beast is produced by Disney Theatrical Group under the direction of Andrew Flatt, Anne Quart and Thomas Schumacher and presented in Singapore by Base Entertainment Asia under the direction of Chantal Prudhomme.
