Presented by Musical Theatre Limited, acclaimed original musical My Love Is Blind returns this November to present its epic, inspirational tale based off Tan Guan Heng’s eponymous semi-autobiographical novel.

Scripted by Leon Foo and Kevin Seah, with music by Julian Abraham Chua, the musical follows the story of Tan, an ex-Rafflesian, lost his sight in the prime of his life shortly after his graduation from the University of Malaya. Left unable to find a job, the entrepreneurial Tan set up his own successful book business and even went on to become an active leader of the blind and disabled, overcoming his disability and societal prejudice with the love and support of the people around him.

With rave reviews from audience members at its premiere at Ulu Pandan Community Centre in 2016 praising its humour, romance and heartwarming message, My Love is Blind throws a spotlight on the ambitions and achievements of the visually handicapped. The 2017 production will star Life! Theatre Award winning actor Benjamin Chow and blind performer Wan Wai Yee, who reprises her role from the 2016 production and proves that just because one is disabled physically, doesn’t mean they don’t have intelligence and talents comparable to the able.

No doubt at this performance, audiences will be moved and made to think twice about the true capabilities of the disabled around us, as they watch this masterfully scripted and wonderfully composed show about one man’s determination to overcome all odds and achieve his dreams this November.
