After their annual mid-year showcase at Sides 2018. Frontier Danceland ends off their 2018 season with the annual Milieu 2018, as they present a new double bill of work at the Esplanade Theatre Studio this November.

Focusing on closely incorporating the concept of sound and aural elements into the performance, Milieu 2018 will invite two international artists to showcase new works. In Dimensions of Dialogue, Frontier Danceland Artistic Director Low Mei Yoke will be collaborating with composer, performer, and choreographer Sascia Pellegrini (Italy/Hong Kong) to explore the different dimensions involved in a dialogue, along with the gaps and assumptions that are often implied in the conversation. This will be seen through exploration of the relation with the dimension of time and history, allowing the dancers to bring to life new relations and new dialogues within their characters.

In The Whole Shebang, guest choreographer Deborah Nightingale (née Galloway) (England) rounds off the double bill with will engage with stories told in a non-linear narrative, tracking the human experience through its highlights and the transitory periods between them. Audience members are invited to reflect on their own interpretations of the world as these abstract movements take one through explore the nature of reality itself.

Join Frontier Danceland this November and explore the power of sound in movement as they continue to push boundaries and break new ground in the world of contemporary dance.

Milieu 2018 plays at the Esplanade Theatre Studio from 9th – 10th November 2018. Tickets available from SISTIC
