LONDON – Winner of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Jackie Sibblies Drury’s Fairview comes to London’s Young Vic this November to deliver a scintillating exploration of racial politics and prejudice still plaguing the modern world.
Directed by Young Vic Genesis Fellow and Associate Director Nadia Latif, Fairview takes place on Grandma’s birthday and the Frasier family have gathered to celebrate. Beverly just wants everything to run smoothly, but Tyrone has missed his flight, Keisha is freaking out about college and Grandma has locked herself in the bathroom.
Originally premiering Off-Broadway at Soho Repertory Theatre in mid-2018, this UK premiere will star Naana Agyei-Ampadu, Donna Banya, David Dawson, Julie Dray, Nicola Hughes, Matthew Needham, Rhashan Stone and Esther Smith. Described by The New York Times as “dazzling and ruthless”, watch as this brutal piece interrogates and calls out our subtly destructive preconceptions in a radical examination of power.
Fairview runs from 28th November 2019 to 18th January 2020 at the Young Vic, London. Tickets available from their website here
