In London’s (Off) West End 2019: Hungerland at The Bread & Roses Theatre (Preview)
LONDON – Following the success of The Black Eye Club by Phil Charles and The Buzz by Lydia Rynne, The Bread & Roses Theatre presents the first instalment of the 2019/20 Playwriting Award: Rachel O’Regan’s Hungerland.
The production brings together a collaboration of talent from the theatre’s playwriting, emerging director and emerging producer schemes and marks an exciting moment as Artistic Director Velenzia Spearpoint and Managing Director and Founder Rebecca Pryle join forces to co-direct this explosive piece of new-writing.
Nicole is preparing the perfect Christmas dinner for her perfect boyfriend in her perfect house. Nothing could ruin her evening – except the arrival of her estranged sister Alice. All Alice wants is a relationship but all Nicole wants is for her to eat…
Darkly funny and discomforting, Rachel O’Regan’s debut play is about food, falling down the rabbit hole, and what we inherit from our families. Hungerland won a Bread & Roses Playwriting Award in 2019, and stars Odera Ndujiuba, Tommi Jatto, and Matthew Wright.
Hungerland runs from 29th Otober to 9th November 2019 at the Bread and Roses Theatre, 68 Clapham Manor Street, London SW4 6DZ. Tickets available here
