The beloved Andrew Lloyd Webber musical returns to Sands Theatre from 29 October to 22 November, featuring a new cast, spectacular choreography and the timeless anthem “Memory”.
The Jellicle Cats are coming back to Singapore. Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS The Musical, one of the most celebrated productions in musical theatre history, will return to Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands from 29 October to 22 November 2026 for a strictly limited season.
Presented by Base Entertainment Asia in association with GWB Entertainment and by arrangement with LW Entertainment, the production marks the musical’s latest Singapore engagement following successful seasons in 2015 and 2019. Tickets are now on sale, inviting audiences to revisit a fantastical world of feline characters, theatrical spectacle and unforgettable music.
“We are thrilled to be opening the door to the world of the Jellicle Cats. Every cat has its own story, quirks and personality, and there is something for everyone to connect with – from the mischievous Rum Tum Tugger to the magical Mr. Mistoffelees, and, of course, the unforgettable Grizabella. Having seen how much audiences have enjoyed previous seasons, we are excited to welcome both returning theatre-goers and a new generation to experience the Jellicle Ball this October,” says Chantal Prudhomme, Chief Executive Officer of Base Entertainment Asia.

This season introduces a new company of performers tasked with bringing T. S. Eliot’s much-loved feline characters to life. Among the familiar faces audiences can expect are Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees, Macavity, Jennyanydots, Old Deuteronomy, Grizabella and Skimbleshanks, each with a distinct personality and place within the Jellicle tribe.
Taking on the iconic role of Grizabella is Cindy-Ann Abrahams, who will perform “Memory”, the musical’s enduring showstopper. The role has a special place in Singapore’s theatrical history, having previously been performed locally by acclaimed artists including Singaporean theatre icon Jacintha Abisheganaden and Filipino musical theatre star Joanna Ampil.
Meanwhile, Mukeni Nel returns to the production after appearing in Singapore’s 2019 season, this time as Quaxo, also known as Mr. Mistoffelees. Known for his magical persona and one of the show’s signature dance moments, the character is sure to be a highlight for fans of the production’s choreography.
The principal company also features King B as Old Deuteronomy, Dylan Janse van Rensburg as Rum Tum Tugger, Tatum Coleman as Bombalurina, Ché-jean Jupp as Munkustrap, Zoë Mclaughlin as Jennyanydots, Logan Timbre as Skimbleshanks and Tannah Levick as Rumpleteazer. The wider ensemble includes performers portraying the remaining Jellicle Cats, alongside swing performers and booth singers who support the production.
The musical’s celebrated roles have a rich international history, having been played by musical theatre luminaries including Elaine Paige as Grizabella, Sarah Brightman as Jemima, Brian Blessed as Old Deuteronomy, Wayne Sleep as Mr Mistoffelees, Paul Nicholas as Rum Tum Tugger and Bonnie Langford as Rumpleteazer.

Based on T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, CATS unfolds in a larger-than-life junkyard transformed into a playground for its extraordinary feline inhabitants. On one special night of the year, the Jellicle Cats gather for the Jellicle Ball, where they introduce themselves and share their stories before their wise leader, Old Deuteronomy. At the end of the gathering, one cat will be chosen to ascend to the Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a new life.
The premise provides the backdrop for a theatrical experience that combines character-driven storytelling with imaginative design, intricate choreography and a memorable musical score. At its heart is “Memory”, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s much-loved ballad, which has been recorded by more than 150 artists, including Barbra Streisand, Johnny Mathis, Liberace and Barry Manilow.
The production’s original creative team included designer John Napier, choreographer Gillian Lynne and director Trevor Nunn. Its distinctive visual world, oversized set pieces and mischievous costumes have helped establish CATS as a landmark of musical theatre.

Since its world premiere at London’s New London Theatre in 1981, CATS has become one of the longest-running musicals in West End and Broadway history. Its original London production ran for 21 years, staging almost 9,000 performances before the show transferred to Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre in 1982.
The production won the Olivier and Evening Standard Awards for Best Musical, followed by seven Tony Awards for its Broadway run, including Best Musical. Its Broadway cast recording also won a Grammy Award for Best Cast Album.
Over the decades, the musical has been performed in more than 54 countries, translated into 23 languages and seen by more than 77 million people worldwide. Its enduring appeal lies in the combination of Lloyd Webber’s score, its distinctive ensemble choreography and a theatrical world that continues to captivate audiences across generations.
The production has also drawn praise from critics over the years. The Sunday Times in the UK called it “a triumphant piece of musical theatre”, while the Daily Mirror described its setting as “a miracle of design”. The Sunday Express praised it as “a brilliantly conceived song and dance spectacular”.
With its return to Singapore, audiences will have another opportunity to experience the spectacle live, whether discovering the Jellicle Cats for the first time or revisiting a musical that has remained a fixture of the international stage for decades.
Whether it is the stirring strains of “Memory”, the acrobatic magic of Mr. Mistoffelees or the collective spectacle of the Jellicle Ball, CATS promises a return to a theatrical world where every cat has a story to tell.
