(Preview) The Effect by Pangdemonium Theatre
The Effect Pangdemonium is back to kick off their 2016 season with Lucy Prebble’s The Effect. This year, they’re finally doing a theme, and it’s *horrors of horror*: ‘love’. But don’t go thinking it’s going to be your run off the mill series of romantic plays (no Ryan Gosling from ‘The Notebook’ either). The Effect is certainly her to show that Pangdemonium is going to … Continue reading (Preview) The Effect by Pangdemonium Theatre
My Experience at Ichiryu
From the brainchild of the people behind ramen joint Shoryu comes an all new dining experience – UDON. Udon isn’t the usual choice of noodles for most people when thinking of Japanese fare, mostly because ramen tends to have more flavour and more meat (and who doesn’t like meat?) Udon tends to be the ‘healthier option”. I came by here during the soft launch where … Continue reading My Experience at Ichiryu
Ice Hotel – Kiruna – Jukkasjärvi
ICEHOTEL – Jukkasjärvi, Swedish Laplands. 18th-20th December 2015 In the far north of Sweden, you’ll find the town of Jukkasjärvi. What’s Jukkasjärvi got going for it then? Not much, except for the world’s first hotel made entirely out of ice! The ICEHOTEL was founded in 1989 and has slowly been gaining traction as one of those must see places. Every year, the hotel is built … Continue reading Ice Hotel – Kiruna – Jukkasjärvi
Hand To God
Hand To God – 8th February 2016 – Vaudeville Theatre. If you thought Avenue Q took naughty puppets to the limit, then you obviously haven’t caught Hand to God, which makes its onstage puppet shenanigans look tame by comparison. That’s right, this play features even more graphic puppet mayhem, swearing and isn’t afraid to ask the difficult questions about religion. First things first, we were … Continue reading Hand To God
Galley London
Galley 31/1/16 From the Randall and Aubin’s ex head chef Marcel Grzyb and sister Oriona Robb comes an all new seafood dining experience in the form of Galley. From the outside, Galley already looks warm and friendly, with a bustling, fervent energy that washes over you from the moment you step in, packed to the very brim with waiters and hungry diners. The tables are … Continue reading Galley London
5 years of MeatLiquor London

Second visit to Meatliquor and decided to have food at the original outlet. We went during the five year anniversary where everything was 50% off (absolutely mad, and our wallets felt all the better for it). I ordered a Dead Hippie Burger (my favourite) and we decided to share a garbage plate.

It’s not a plate of garbage – it’s a huge plate of chips, caramelized onions, a patty, and barbecue sauce. And it was GOOD. The patties in both burger and plate were dripping with juice as usual, and my friend wanted to go back to MEATliquor again just for the garbage plate (she hates burger buns and loves chips).
They played some great music as well, and while some may feel uncomfortable in the darkness, I loved it to bits and am ready to eat more meat. Very friendly waiter as well who was nice and pretty prompt.

Essentially a winter funfair, Winter Wonderland plays host to a plethora of attractions, from the seemingly endless games booths, to the many funfair rides that cost between 2-5 pounds a pop. One of the more unique games … Continue reading Winter Wonderland 2015
Bao.
It’s been a while since I last had a good kongbakpao (roast pork sandwiched in a fluffy white bun). After all, everyone knows that Asians will spontaneously combust if they go for more than a week without Asian food. So when Bao suddenly blew up over the internet, I had to go down for a taste. Bao is basically the new kid on the block … Continue reading Bao.
